Music of Serpent Song
I love music.
Almost as much as I love writing and reading. And coffee. There’s always time for coffee … and of course, a cupcake. Hmmm! Anyway, back to the music. When I was writing Serpent Song, I compiled a list of songs to help me stage the mood for a particular scene or chapter. The playlist helped me focus when I was on the road and away from the desk.
For the record, may I publicly apologise now to my children, who for six months solid heard the same songs on a loop as we travelled all those hours for sport every week.
Of course, as the Serpent Song story grew and changed shape during the editing phases, (and I mean phases), the music reflected the scene changes. However, essentially the line up is the same, apart from the addition of Stevie Nicks. How can you have a playlist without Stevie?
This selection of music I think helps invoke the feelings behind the story. A not so random musical score that rides the ups and downs of Serpent Song. Today, I’d love to share the playlist with you.
