The Dubbo Book Launch is coming! Thursday 1 June from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the Macquarie Regional Library.
Join us in fun and friendship to chat about all things plot lines, characters and everything in between. The format is pretty simple – walk in, grab a wine and some nibbles, catch up with some mates. It’s all very relaxed and laid back – just the way we Aussies like it.
I’ll have a little chat about the stories behind Serpent Song, share a secret or two and sign some books. Then it’s time for another glass of wine, a snack and a chance to chat some more. Simple!
During the course of the evening, I’ll be seeking to clarify some opinions made in the book, particularly those concerning the NSW Police Minister (who as it turns out happens to be my husband … oops!)
In fairness, when I wrote the book, he wasn’t and it’s of little consequence really. Besides, what’s a story without some controversy involving the hierarchy? And friction between police departments. Right?
Serpent Song will be available for purchase on the night but may I suggest that if you’re able to nip on down to The Book Connection in Dubbo before hand, please do. Bring your copy along, I’ll be happy to sign it on the night.
Serpent Song was a really hard book to box into a category (this seems to be a common thread in my life). So, in true Toni Grant style I think I’ve covered off on three – crime, drama, romance.
But you can make your own call. Come on over to the Macquarie Regional Library in Dubbo, Thursday June 1 at 5.30pm. Hear about the story behind the story, read the thing and make the decision for yourself.
Until next week, check you on the roundabout, Toni X
