Book Launch Serpent Song

Book launch at NSW State Library, Sydney

So excited to be launching my debut fictional novel Serpent Song at the NSW State Library tonight in The Friends Room. What an amazing night celebrated with family and friends! What an awe inspiring location.

Seriously this room is simply the most beautiful, peaceful, indulgent place.  Fully stocked book shelves the length of each wall. Stained glass windows. Timber floors. Tapestry rugs. Leather lounges – wine, food and good friends.

Shout out and thank you to the team at NSW State Library. Thank you for creating such a great vibe for the night. To my good friend, The Honorable George Souris AM who was MC. To Mark Zocchi of Brolga Publishing and Tess Salmon of Aube Communications.  Tess was my interview partner and kept me on track – not an easy thing to do when I want to tell you everything at once.

To my awesome family and friends who jumped on numerous planes mid week to get to Sydney (yes it was a school night).  And of course, my beautiful family who’ve supported me through thick and thin. To Taylor, our daughter, who spoke so beautifully and launched the book with the help of the crowd. I thank you all so much. You mean the world to me.

To the many wonderful friends who have supported me through this project and to those who came simply because they’d never been to a book launch and wanted to know what all the fuss was about, my heartiest thank you.   I hope you enjoyed the evening as much as I.

(I’ll let you in on a secret … I’ve never been to a book launch either!)

Feeling so very grateful, humbled and appreciative.
